Force Dawg is known for his free-flowing rap style over hitting hip-hop beats. At the tender age of five, Daforce was introduced to his first instrument, the guitar. By age nine, he was introduced to drums. Neither instrument was enough to satisfy his thirst for musical knowledge but they helped shape his producing skills and aspirations.

Daforce started his first band at 10 and took part in gradeschool talent shows. The breakthrough of rap/hip-hop music on the mainstream played and instrumental part in his adolescent years. It is the fact that Daforce doesn’t rely on samples to build a song. The Top Urban rapper with the Motown sound usually builds a song starting with a melody even though most hip hop rappers that are standard do not do that.

In Daforce’s own words, “I take a typical melody and strip off the rap vocals of the song, you would quickly realize that the music is rhythmic and harmonious, which compels me to sing something. Daforce got that way by practicing his craft in many music venues, one the video homage where you see him in a perfect edit and the music is all original. Force Dawg, as he was first known to his fans, is also known for his series of Hip Hop original songs and has taken the influences of rap and Motown sound and mixed them up to a while new type of hip hop. But Daforce (the name he goes by now) doesn’t really have just one music role model, but he has a few music artists that he respects a lot. And it’s not locked down to rap, hip hop or even Motown. Daforce surprised this writer with his music influences that he ran down like a list of jewels. Music genius’ like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Madonna, E40, Tupac, Too Short, Run DMC and NWA are just some of the influences in Daforce’s original hip hop Motown Rap style.

Daforce also enjoys the standard rappers like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Game, B.I.G. Snoop, but also is influenced by Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and even Janis Joplin. According to the top worldwide rapper, “I chose rap because I love the creativity, the wordplay and the power it has, plus the ability for me to convey my message or my feelings with that.” Whatever album Daforce works on is always different from the last . He also plays focused hard hip hop/Motown sounding music with a clear message. He’s a very serious musician in a very serious world. But just as easy, Daforce can switch it up and be at home playing his favorite, close to his heart Motown cuts.

“I say Motown because I’m vintage, simplistic and easy to follow and straight to the point,” says Daforce. He adds that, “When Motown came out it was so different than what was there before, that’s why I’m saying it should be a genre by itself.” Daforce is not to be mistaken. He’s not saying he should be a whole genre by himself, but his style is completely left or right of the majority of musicians out there doing what he is, which can be classified as Hip Hop, Rap, Motown Rap or even rock.

“I have so much respect for musicians and rappers that I never want to sound like them in any way,” says the rapper. “And if you noticed the musicians I’ve mentioned that I respect, they are so unique you cannot miss them. That’s all I am saying,” he adds.

Think of Daforce as a music force to be reckoned with, or as a math problem Einstein would be proud of! He has a great hold on the vast styles of music and composing music and lyrics. The amazing math problem of Daforce would be (M) = (R)! Motown fan is introduced to Rap hip hop songs, which is the ‘square root’ that sounds like a different type of music coming out of those Marshall amps. But this musician who blends Rap and Motown so well says that he loves both Berry Gordy’s crew and the Hip Hop Posse of Rap equally!

I heard of a rap singer who sounds like he’s doing Motown Hip Hop. Who is Daforece and are his influences Rap artists like Run DMC, LL Cool J, Erik B and Rakim, which became part of DAFORCE’s distinct signature sound? I know Run DMC and LL Cool J. don’t sound Motown, but this rapper does sound Motown.:

Motown souding Rap artist DaForce a.k.a. Force Dawg has been on the scene and growing every day that passes. I’ve heard a few of his cuts and seen a few of his videos, and I feel he’s got the cut to be the Motown Rap singer. His music is very out of the box, and very varied. I think we are going to hear about Daforce as this Motown Rapper moves up the ladder to more music and hits.

According to an A & R man, with Interscope Records “Music listeners are given the chance to like a singer for his songs and style, but most of the time those fans will not feel the same about the singer or his music,” he says. “Fans become can become confused and are not quite as sure as the first time they may hear a tune, it’s human nature,” thus DAFORCE keeps his name abstract, interesting and even eye catching. And there is no problems with is music making the transition from hard core rap to a Motown sound rapping with a DAFORCE to be reckoned with. Motown Rappper sounds great. I think it’s the perfect mix for any rapper, especially one like DaForce. There are so many with a similar name, I’m sure he took care with that name, but in the end it’s the music that counts, not the name. Right?
